You don't need overdone effects or highly staged setups to tell stories. All you need are real people and raw emotion.
Creative Director / Editor / I helped develop this brand with the NBC Sports Network. Our goal was to showcase the atmosphere and fanaticism of being at a large sporting event. The fans essentially become the filmmakers, documenting their very personal experiences with smart phones and gopro's. I wanted the pieces to feel handmade. The finished pieces were featured during NBC Sports live broadcasts and on the web at yahoo sports.

Bruins Comeback / Feel what it was like to witness a remarkable game 7 comeback by the Boston Bruins against the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 2013 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.
A Blue Bleeding Red / A passionate fan gets a rival team tattoo to help raise money for a charity that helped his sick daughter.
The Arsenal Bully / An Arsenal football club supporters game day ritual is documented.

Wish / Editor / This spot was created for the 2011 NHL playoff campaign. It features Chicago Blackhawks forward Jonathan Toews. We used actual home videos from Jonathan's past, making it as authentic as possible.
Names / Editor / This spot was created for the 2010 Versus NHL playoff campaign. It features star hockey player Sidney Crosby. Footage was never shot or storyboarded specifically for this spot. I was handed a couple of stills and decided to create a stop motion piece.
The Second Half is On / Editor / This spot was created for the 2007-2008 Versus NHL Campaign, promoting the remainder of the NHL season.
Every vote is earned / Editor / An Anthem used to promote the 2008 NHL All Star Game on Versus.
Travelling Salesman is a feature length film that was released in 2012. Timothy Lanzone wrote and directed this intellectual thriller which explores the ramifications of solving one the most elusive problems in computer science history - P vs NP. Mostly filmed in one location, the film is a great example of pure storytelling.
It took home awards for Best Feature Film, Best Actor and Best Editor at the 2012 Silicon Valley Film Festival. It was also an official selection at the 2012 NYC International Film Festival and continues to be screened around the world.
Trailer / Editor / Tackling the trailer was no easy task. With only a few locations and a niche mathematical problem at the forefront, we found that simplifying and keeping things mysterious was the most effective.
Film / Editor / The film was shot on a super low budget with only one camera. Scenes were covered from a variety of angles many times over. Here is an example of one such scene that is taken later in the film as tempers start to boil over. My goal was to ensure the viewer would feel like a participant in the room, experiencing it.

Black Flag / Editor / A brand anthem used to promote the 2013 Major League Soccer season on The NBC Sports Network. It features the song "Rise" by the punk band Black Flag. I worked with several designers to create the typography featured in the piece. Those prone to seizures be warned...

NFL Turning Point: Superbowl Edition / Editor / This spot was created to promote a special "Superbowl" edition of NFL turning point on NBC Sports Network.
Editor / This commercial was a collaboration between Versus and Pepsi. We created an anthem for their energy drink featuring MMA fighter Urijah Faber.
Regret Nothing / Editor / A tease created for the 2011 Tour De France campaign. It features the song "Non Je Ne Regrette Rien" by Edith Piaf. The songs title translated means "No, I'm not sorry for anything" and we support it by juxtaposing both the beauty and the brutality of the race, where the riders give everything they have and regret nothing.
Leader / Editor / This spot was created as part of the 2011 Tour De France campaign.
Bike / Editor / This spot was created as part of the 2011 Tour De France campaign. Everyone has fond childhood memories of their first bike ride. The top cyclists in the world are featured.

Every once in a while I have the opportunity to think completely out of the box. I love tackling creative from a completely unique perspective and deliver the unexpected.
The Rink / Editor / My fellow co-workers and I had a lot of fun making this NHL spot in the spirit of Halloween, mimicking the tone of the Japanese film "Ringu" and its American remake "The Ring". I used various in-house stock and specialty footage to edit the piece together and then shot the spot off a monitor, creating the lo-fi effect.
Aporkalypse / Editor / I collaborated on this tease with Everybody Brands for The Sportsman Channel. We were tasked with promoting their summer stunt Aporkalypse, with the direction being we create something intense and scary. What we ended up with was something very "Lynchian" and grotesque.
Unleashed / Editor / This trailer was created for the PBR World Finals on Halloween. The idea was to promote the event as a horror film, portraying the bulls as monsters. Special Effects legend Tom Savini helped out and acted in the trailer.

Effin' / Editor / This spot was created as part of the 2010 Versus Country hunting campaign. Charlie Moore goes more than a little bit off script. The spot never airs, for obvious reasons.
Rope / Editor / This spot was created as part of the 2009 Professional Bull Riders campaign. It features actor Johnny Messner.
